Designed around deep jewel tones, antique brickwork, rich velvet textures, and contemporary party elements, the concept shows how thoughtful event rentals can bridge historic industrial architecture with sleek modern elegance.
Historic Ybor Brickwork Framed in Midnight Velvet Draping
The towering red brick walls and exposed timber beams of Tampa’s oldest operating cigar factory offer extraordinary architectural character, but cavernous historic spaces can easily overwhelm intimate gatherings without deliberate spatial framing. For the ceremony design, the creative team utilized Gabro Event Services’ plush floor-to-ceiling draping to carve out a focal gathering alcove, grounding the vows in opulent darkness.
Rather than concealing the venue’s historic charm, flowing black and emerald velvet drapery framed the exposed brick windows, creating rich acoustic warmth and luxurious contrast against the aged masonry. Flanked by modern black Chiavari chairs arranged in clean rows, the ceremony aisle felt private, dramatic, and intensely romantic under the soft glow of architectural uplighting.
High-Contrast Tablescapes: Deep Emerald Linens & Modern Matte Accents
The dining tablescape leaned boldly into high-contrast luxury, pairing deep forest green velvets with sleek matte black tableware. Gabro Event Services outfitted the reception banquet with heavy midnight textured linens that pooled elegantly across the hardwood floors, absorbing evening light and making vibrant floral arrangements leap forward.
At each place setting, modern matte black flatware and smoked glassware contrasted sharply against dark charger plates. To honor the historic social traditions of Ybor City cigar culture, the design featured an intimate velvet lounge setting styled with vintage accents, custom cocktail tables, and ambient lighting.
Gabro Event Services supplied amber-toned architectural uplighting that highlighted the texture of the original cedar storage lockers, while discreet pinspotting illuminated the curated cocktail bar. Paired with subtle modern disco touches and an artisan espresso cart by Cafe Ala Carte, the space balanced industrial grit with high-society glamour well into the evening hours.
