Tampa natives Lexi and Tucker wanted a wedding day that reflected their deep appreciation for Florida’s coastal charm while honoring classic, elegant entertaining traditions. Selecting the Davis Islands Garden Club offered the quintessential South Tampa experience: a secluded waterfront lawn, gentle maritime breezes, and manicured tropical gardens just minutes from downtown.
The couple selected a sophisticated color palette of warm neutrals, ivory, and polished gold, accented with rich pops of burgundy and garden roses for depth. Planned with effortless precision by Blue Skies Weddings and Events, the flow of the celebration moved naturally from outdoor ceremonies to indoor-outdoor dining and dancing.
“We envisioned a more formal fare in a quaint setting,” Lexi recalled. “We wanted to take something simple and beautiful and dress it up. Our end vision was something classic and timeless, and Davis Islands Garden Club checked every single box.”
Romantic Lawn Nuptials Overlooking Hillsborough Bay
Under the afternoon Florida sun, guests gathered on the garden club’s waterside lawn, framed by towering palms and the open waters of the bay. The ceremony aisle was lined with golden lanterns and rose petals leading to the iconic white garden gazebo, lushly decorated with sprawling greenery and ivory florals.
Lexi stunned in a timeless lace gown featuring cap sleeves and an illusion neckline, carrying a vibrant bouquet of garden roses and eucalyptus captured gracefully by Lifelong Photography Studio. Tucker’s emotional reaction as Lexi walked down the aisle was one of the day’s most touching moments, followed by meaningful vows officiated by Sensational Ceremonies.
Following their ceremony exit, the newlyweds took sunset portraits on the waterfront swing with their beloved Labrador retriever, creating cherished keepsakes before joining their guests for cocktail hour on the patio.

As dusk fell, the reception unfolded both inside the garden club’s clubhouse and across the illuminated outdoor terraces. The lighting was something we knew we wanted after we saw Gabro set up at the bridal show at our venue. We were ecstatic with the ambiance that the lights provided.”
