Historic 1920s Mediterranean Romance: The Powel Crosley Estate
Built in 1929 along the sparkling shores of Sarasota Bay, the Powel Crosley Estate—originally known as “Seagate”—stands as an architectural masterpiece on the National Register of Historic Places. Featuring hand-carved wooden doors, circular stone towers, ornate wrought-iron balconies, and sprawling banyan trees draped in Spanish moss, this Mediterranean Revival estate offered an authentic historic backdrop where vintage grandeur met modern luxury.
Orchestrated with flawless vision by premier wedding planner Tammy Waterman of Special Moments Event Planning, the celebration unfolded across the estate’s majestic waterfront lawns and covered stone loggias. The sweeping outdoor property allowed guests to soak in uninterrupted breezes from Sarasota Bay while feeling completely secluded within a private historic haven.

Sacred Vows by the Bay: A Ceremony on the Water’s Edge
Set on the estate’s expansive waterfront lawn facing the sparkling bay, the ceremony embraced the natural majesty of Florida’s coastal landscape. Rows of pristine white folding chairs lined the manicured lawn, leading toward a dark walnut ceremonial arch adorned with asymmetrical floral cascades from Ever After Vintage Weddings, featuring rare blush pink King Protea, crimson garden roses, and silver dollar eucalyptus.
Chevonne walked down the aisle in a striking lace halter mermaid gown from Something Blue Bridal Boutique, carrying a dramatic bouquet wrapped in deep burgundy satin ribbons. As she and Vaughn exchanged heartfelt personal vows beneath the coastal sky, the emotional moment was captured with radiant documentary brilliance by Kéra Photography and VHVideo.com. Following their first kiss, the newlyweds wandered the estate’s historic grounds, pausing beneath towering moss-draped oaks as golden hour cast an ethereal glow across the bay.

The Estate Pavilion: Berry Blooms, Gilded Seating & Fine Dining
As twilight settled over Sarasota, dinner was served in the estate’s covered outdoor pavilion. Gabro Event Services outfitted the dining space with signature Gold Chiavari ballroom chairs, bringing regal warmth that contrasted beautifully with the estate’s aged coquina stone walls. Tables were dressed in soft blush linens, anchored by elevated floral centerpieces in tall gilded trumpet vases overflowing with deep burgundy dahlias, quicksand roses, and lush greenery.
At each guest setting, Gabro Event Services’ signature gilded gold beaded charger plates framed custom burgundy menu cards and gold napkin rings. Guests were treated to an exquisite multi-course coastal dinner prepared by Delectables Fine Catering, savoring fine cuisine while gentle sea breezes drifted off Sarasota Bay through the pavilion’s open arches.

Confectionery Artistry, High-Energy Music & Cold Spark Send-Off
The dessert display featured a classic two-tier textured white buttercream cake crafted by Publix, adorned with fresh King Protea, spray roses, and berries, elevated on a signature gilded gold display stand. Following the cake cutting, premier Florida DJ team Shut Down Productions ignited an electric dance party, keeping the dance floor packed with an irresistible mix of R&B classics, hip-hop favorites, and pop anthems.
To cap off an extraordinary destination celebration, guests lined the grand front lawn of the estate for a breathtaking grand exit. Flanked by soaring cold sparkler fountains from Spark Wedding Events, Chevonne and Vaughn ran hand-in-hand through the glittering sparks into a luxury limousine from Luxor Transportation, concluding a magical Sarasota wedding that celebrated love, heritage, and timeless coastal luxury.
