Winter in Tampa is not a season you decorate for, it is a season you invent. There is no snow, the palms are still green and the lawn is still usable at four in the afternoon, so a winter scheme here has to be carried entirely by material and colour. This styled shoot did it with emerald, copper and a lot of white — no couple, no guest list, just a planner, a venue and a set of rentals asked to make December out of a warm afternoon.
The West Events Space is a modern industrial room with a reclaimed wood wall, black steel above and turf outside. Gabro’s part of the order was the seating, the tables, the linens and napkins, and a full lounge set for the lawn. What makes the shoot worth studying is that it uses two completely different chairs in two rooms, on purpose.
Two chairs, two rooms, one shoot
The ceremony was set with gold Chiavari in rows against the reclaimed wood wall. Gold is the correct metal to put in front of warm timber — it belongs to the same half of the colour wheel, so the rows read as part of the room rather than as furniture parked in it. Silver or black in that spot would have cut the wall into strips.
The head table indoors used clear acrylic instead. That is the opposite logic and the right call: a long table dressed for a jewel-toned scheme has a lot going on above the tabletop, and a solid chair back adds a repeating block of colour behind every place setting. Clear chairs disappear, so the emerald and the greenery are the only strong things in the frame.
Both choices come with handling notes worth knowing. Gold Chiavari is a light frame with a gilt finish, so it marks if it is dragged rather than lifted, and rows on a hard industrial floor need the glides checked or they will sound like a scaffold every time a guest sits down. Clear acrylic is the reverse problem: structurally it is fine, but it shows fingerprints and dust immediately, so it is wiped down after setting rather than before — and it is worth a second wipe after the room has been vacuumed.

Emerald velvet against plain white linen
The tables were dressed in plain white linen and the colour was delivered entirely by the napkins and a velvet runner. That is the cheapest, most reversible way to put a strong jewel tone into a room, and it is how most well-executed colour schemes actually work: the large surfaces stay neutral and the small, replaceable pieces carry the palette.
Velvet is doing specific work here. A jewel tone in a flat poly reads as a block of colour and photographs slightly plastic; velvet has a pile, so the same green is dark where it folds and bright where the light catches it, which is what makes it look expensive rather than merely coloured. It is also the fabric that survives a napkin fold — the pile holds the crease without pressing.
White linen underneath is not the easy option, though it looks like it. It has to be steamed on the table rather than folded in, it shows every drop, and under a hard overhead light it can blow out to pure white and lose its texture. It works in a room like this because the light is soft and indirect, and because it gives the emerald something to sit against that adds no colour of its own.

A lounge that makes the lawn part of the party
Outside, a full lounge grouping was set on the turf: a cream tufted settee, two framed armchairs and a low table, with lanterns on the grass. This is the single most useful thing you can put on a lawn, and it is routinely left out of a floor plan because it does not seat a guest at dinner.
What it buys is dwell time. Guests will walk out onto a lawn, stand for four minutes and go back inside, because standing on grass in formal shoes is not comfortable for longer than that. Somewhere to sit converts the outside from a photograph into a room, and it is where the quieter half of a party ends up for most of the evening.
Specifying outdoor lounge in Florida is mostly about the two things that ruin it. Upholstered pieces on turf pick up damp from below, so they go out on the day rather than the night before and come in before dew; and pale upholstery on an open lawn is a sunblock problem before it is a stain problem, which is why a grouping like this is sited in shade or set for late afternoon. Placed properly, it also gives the photographer the one thing an open lawn never has — a foreground.
