Tented wedding rentals gave Meg and Steve something no indoor venue could: a room they built themselves, on an open lawn, in the middle of January. Their black-and-white celebration at The Fenway in Dunedin ran 125 guests deep, with a band brought in from out of state and a checkered dance floor that stayed full until the sparkler exit.
Building a room on an open lawn
The ceremony came first, at Harborside Chapel in Safety Harbor. The reception was the harder problem. A January evening on the Gulf coast can swing thirty degrees between cocktail hour and last call, and The Fenway’s lawn had no walls to hold the warmth in. Gabro supplied the tent and the pleated draping that lines it, white fabric gathered along the ceiling and falling the full height of the walls, so the frame disappears and what is left reads as a room rather than a shelter.
Bistro lighting runs the length of the span in parallel strings, warm enough to carry the entire reception without anything overhead fighting it. Clear arched panels sit in the tent walls, keeping the lawn and the evening sky part of the room instead of shutting them out. That is the detail separating a tented reception from a merely covered one.
Booking the structure and the soft goods together matters more than it sounds. A liner has to be cut for the frame it hangs on, and the lighting has to be rigged off that same frame at a height that clears the tallest thing on the table. Split those three decisions across three suppliers and somebody ends up improvising at eight in the morning on the day of.
A lawn also has to be made level and fed with power before any of this works. The Fenway’s is flat enough to take a floor without a subframe, which is not true of every waterfront lawn in Pinellas County, and the difference shows up as a line on the quote rather than a problem on the day.

A dance floor built for a concert
Meg and Steve spent their budget deliberately, and the band is where it went. They brought a group in from out of state and put them on a raised stage at the head of the tent. “The reception genuinely felt like a concert,” Meg said, describing light-up cowboy hats going round the room and a night that ended on a sparkler exit.
The checkered floor does real work in these photographs. It anchors the black-and-white palette at the centre of the tent and gives the room an obvious middle, so guests know where the night is happening before the first song plays. Once dinner clears, uplighting shifts the whole tent from warm white to deep purple, and the floor is the one surface that reads the same under both.
Staging is the quietest line on a rental order and the one guests never consciously notice when it is right. A band playing at ground level disappears behind the first two rows of standing guests. The same band twelve inches up is visible from the back tables, which is where half the room spends the evening.

White linen, glass, and a great deal of candlelight
Table by table the palette stays disciplined. White linen, glass chargers catching the light, black-and-white table numbers, and candles set at three different heights so the glow sits below eye level rather than above it. Gabro supplied the cocktail table linens and the chargers.
Chargers are the piece most couples cut first and the one that shows most in photographs. A rim of glass under every plate picks up the candlelight and gives each setting a defined edge, which matters enormously in a tent where the light is warm and low and nearly everything else on the table is white.
Meg’s own summary of the rental package was blunter than anything we would write about ourselves: “Gabro Event Services provided our tent, lighting, tent draping, cocktail table linens, stage, dance floor, and chargers, and they were truly the backbone of our wedding.”
